Ferguson will play his 124th match with 8210 runs under his belt when the two teams take the field at ACH Group Stadium in Glenelg.

The 35-year-old bows out of the Sheffield Shield as the second-most capped for South Australia, and fifth on the all-time runscorers tally.

Left-hand batsman Jake Lehmann has been brought into the 15-player squad for the first time this season.

Head Coach Jason Gillespie said:

“Firstly, we wish Callum the very best in his final first-class game after such an exceptional career at the highest level.

“He has been a fine servant of the State and his influence on this playing group will remain for years to come.

“We also welcome Jake into the squad who has been a leader around the broader Redbacks group to the high standard we expect.”

The Redbacks last played out a defiant draw against Victoria, which saw them bat through 160 overs to save the game.

Play begins at 10:30am on Sunday, and the playing XI will be announced at the toss.
