The New Zealand international and allrounder played four matches with the Scorpions in 2014-15 and 2015-16, with her schedule allowing her to participate in all six Women’s National Cricket League games this season.

“Really happy to be joining the girls again...the girls have been awesome welcoming me back in,” said Devine, who has played 86 one-day internationals and 60 Twenty20 internationals for New Zealand.

Having trained with the squad for the last two weeks, Devine has been impressed by the crop of young talent coming through the South Australian ranks.

“I think Tabatha Saville is a really exciting talent, she was obviously involved in the group a little bit last year and this year is one of the newly-contracted players…so I think she is going to be one to watch," Devine said.

“You look at Ellie Falconer and Eliza (Doddridge) as well…I think the future of South Australian cricket is in some pretty good hands.”

Australian allrounder and former New South Wales player Ashleigh Gardner has been named in the 13-player squad for round one and may get the opportunity to debut for her new State.

“Ash (Gardner) has settled in really well, she’s a great addition to the side and I’m really looking forward to playing alongside her, rather than against her in the Australian colours.

“I think we’ve got a fantastic group and can hopefully go all the way this year.”
