The husband and wife duo established the program over four years ago and are still heavily involved, ensuring they reach as many children in the community as possible.

Reynella is the only completely club and volunteer-run all-abilities centre in the State, with remaining centres facilitated by SACA specialist coaching staff.

Over the years the centre has grown from just five participants, to over a dozen each week.

James and Jenni invite program graduates back as mentors and coaches with one graduate, Jimmy, taking a young boy with the same disability as himself under his wing and playing a mentor role this year.

Jimmy’s interest in cricket coaching is able to flourish through his involvement in the Reynella program, which provides a pathway for him to further explore his cricket goals.

Statewide Super SA Scorpion, Alex Price, attended the all-abilities program launch earlier this month to provide support and experience the program first-hand.

The off-spinner, who has attended the program in the past, is also a teacher, specialising in working with children with disabilities.

Price has praised the all-abilities program for creating opportunities for kids who may not otherwise be able to experience sport.

“It’s great for kids of any ability and I can see that everyone has so much fun”, Price said.

Self-confessed cricket-lover and volunteer James is a police officer and father of two teenage boys, with the youngest of the two living with a disability.

As the treasurer and team manager of the SA Police Cricket Team, James has been a key organiser not only of the Reynella all-abilities program but also SA Police exhibition matches, including the annual FeBLUary match between the SA Police and Southern District Cricket Club, which raises awareness for Beyond Blue.

James also organised for a team from SA Police to play against Blind Cricket SA, providing a unique opportunity for SA Police to experience blind cricket, while Blind Cricket SA players were able to engage in valuable match practice.
