The Tigers have gained a huge boost by the return of Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, but Carey says the Redbacks need to focus on what they can control.

“We’re going in with some good form which is nice so we’ll be looking to hopefully play another good game of cricket,” he said.

“We come up against Tasmania who have come over from WA and they will be obviously looking to get a win on the board.

“For us it’s about focusing on what we can do and we’ve had guys stepping up all tournament so far so we’ll be looking to do that again.”

Carey has enjoyed a solid start to his campaign, with the wicketkeeper-batsman making a crucial 60 at the top of the order in the win against New South Wales.

He also played an important role in the win against Queensland, taking three catches including a tough chance standing up to the stumps to Valente to dismiss experienced batsman Joe Burns.
