The Aussie quick was absent from SA's season openers to play in an ODI and T20i series in the West Indies, where she took 11 wickets across six games, including a hattrick in the final ODI.
Schutt continued her top form back on home soil throughout rebel WBBL and was named in the WBBL|05 Team of the Tournament in December.
New Zealand international Suzie Bates will again feature in the squad, after making her South Australian debut in September against New South Wales.
The allrounder is currently in the midst of playing in New Zealand’s domestic competition, the Super Smash, where she has collected a league-high 430 runs, with two minor-round matches still remaining.
Bridget Patterson, Tahlia McGrath and Amanda-Jade Wellington are fresh from a successful Australia A tour prior to Christmas, where the side won five of six matches against India A.
Patterson sits atop the WNCL leaderboard for runs with 159, after knocks of 78 not out and 81 against NSW and ACT respectively.
The Scorpions have a 0-2 win-loss record and sit in sixth place on the WNCL ladder after the first round of matches.
They will take on the bottom-placed Tasmania Tigers, who also lost both of their season openers.
