Bodyline Bar

Introducing the Bodyline Bar

Cricket at Adelaide Oval has a long and successful past dating back to the first major match between South Australia and England in March 1874. Since that time there have been many memorable matches played here with arguably the most famous being the Bodyline Test held between Australia and England on January 13-19, 1933.

To commemorate this historic Test Series and its link to Adelaide Oval, a new bar has been commissioned which will rival any bar at any sporting venue in the world. Located in the north end on level one of Sir Edwin Smith Stand and featuring quality carpentry by South Australian tradespeople and rare memorabilia from the Bodyline Series, the bar is going to be a stand out attraction for all who visit it this summer and beyond.

To give members the opportunity to experience the new Bodyline Bar, we have made sessions available to members and their guests throughout days one, two and three of the Magellan Ashes Test. It is a chance to view the memorabilia and watch the first day/night Ashes Test from an incredible view point. The response to the ballot has been over whelming with over 20,000 applications for spots. We are very proud of the bar and we are sure you will be impressed with what we think is a great place to watch Test Cricket at arguably the best cricket ground in the world.

The ballot closed at 10.00am ACST 27 November 2017. Successful members have now been notified by email. If you did not receive an email you will remain on the Bodyline Bar waitlist and we will contact you if any places become available.

Please note- outside of 9 balloted session times, SACA members are welcome to come for a quick look through the Bodyline Bar from 12pm -1.15pm on days one, two and three and anytime from 12pm on days four and five (subject to play). No bookings are required for these times (however it will be only available subject to capacity).
