Australia v England - Day/ Night Ashes Test

Adelaide Oval’s upcoming season will deliver a cricket bonanza for SACA Members.

For the first time, an Ashes day/night men’s Test match will be the jewel in the famous venue’s 2017/18 cricket schedule.

Match Date: Saturday 2 December to Wednesday 6 December 2017

Location: Adelaide Oval

Gate Opening Times: 12:00pm daily

Day 5 - Play start time 2pm


Entry: SACA Members and Transferable Card holders are required to scan their membership card upon entry. A reminder that Member Cards are not transferable and can only be used by the member. Members must carry their Member card and photo ID at all times whilst in attendance at Adelaide Oval. If someone else is found using your member card a suspension or cancellation of membership will apply. Random identification checks will be conducted on cricket match days. 

Members Seating: For Day 5 of the Ashes Test at Adelaide Oval, non- allocated seating for SACA Members and their guests will be in the Western Stands levels 1, 2 and 3, and the Riverbank Stand level 3. These seats will be available on a “first come, first served” basis.  

SACA Members' Area Free Reserved Seat Stickers: During the Ashes Test, Members and their guests will be issued with a free reserve seat sticker upon entry to the Adelaide Oval. SACA Member Guest Passes: Members can purchase a maximum of 3 guest passes for day 5 of the Ashes Test. For more information regarding guest passes please click here.  Guest passes will be sold for $10 for adults and $5 for children (4-15 years old). Note- guest passes can be purchased online or at the gate. Please note, transactions online will incur a $5.85 transaction fee. Guest passes purchased at the gate with not incur a transaction fee. Guest passes can be purchased at the Ticket Box office at the North and South gates from 11.30am on Wednesday 6/12/17.

Public Tickets: Entry into the public area for day 5 will be by gold coin donation to the Sporting Chance Fund.

Members' Area Dress Code: SACA Members should review the dress standards prior to attending the match. We encourage members to ensure that their guests are also aware of the dress standards. For more information on the SACA Members’ Area dress standards click here.

Match Day SMS: To report bad behaviour during cricket matches, text Adelaide Oval security on 0400 TELL US (0400 8355 87). This number is printed on the back of the SACA Membership cards. Please provide as much information as possible (i.e. exact location and incident details) so the issue can be addressed as soon as possible.

Village Green: During the Ashes Test, the popular Village Green (located in the Members' Area) will once again be the venue of choice for many members. The Village Green features live entertainment, Fashions on the Green, a wide selection of food offerings from around the world and a festive atmosphere. Click here for a map of the village green.

Food & Beverage payment options:    A new cash card system has been introduced by Adelaide Oval for the Magellan day-night Ashes Test. We hope that the new system will minimise the use of cash exchange and streamline the purchasing process for patrons.

All bars in the Village Green will be cashless. The bars will accept EFTPOS, credit cards and Adelaide Oval cash cards. Members can place cash onto an Adelaide Oval cash card for free with two cash exchange stations in the Village Green set up to do this.

Food outlets in the Village Green accept EFTPOS, cash and credit cards however do not accept the Adelaide Oval cash card.

For the rest of the Members' Area, Adelaide Oval food and beverage outlets outside of the Village Green accept EFTPOS, credit cards and Adelaide Oval cash cards, but no cash.

Car parking: North Car Park $10. Open to public at 11:00am daily. Very limited casual and disabled parking available

Disabled car parking: A small number of disabled car parking bays are available in the Northern Car Park (off Pennington Terrace). Vehicles must display an official disabled driver permit. Click here for information on how to pre-book car parking. Note- when you pre-book your car parking, you will not specifically pre-book for a disabled carpark. Just notify the Adelaide Oval representative when you arrive at the car park that you would like to be directed to the disabled car parking area (subject to availability).

Pram and strollers: Prams are strollers are permitted within Adelaide Oval. However, due to space limitations and for the safety and enjoyment of other patrons, prams and strollers must be folded up and stored under seats, or stored in one of the pram/ stroller storage locations (left at your own risk). This season there will be a kick rail installed at each pram bay location. Patrons can secure their pram to the kick rail with a bike chain and lock. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own bike chain and lock, however Adelaide Oval will make some bike chains and locks available at the Stadium Concierge desk in the Southern Plaza (subject to availability) at a cost of $10 deposit which will be fully refundable upon return. There are three pram and storage locations for members, one located at the back of the Western Stand, one on the ground floor of the Riverbank Stand, and one in the Eastern stand. Please be reminded that prams and strollers cannot be stored in disabled seating reserve areas. 

Members Children and Grandchildren: Children 9 years of age or younger as at 31 August 2017, if accompanying their parent or grandparent who is a Members, can gain free access to the ground (not available to Transferable Cardholder's children). If a Member's child has turned 10 years of age on or before 31 August 2017, they can no longer gain free access to the ground with the Member. They can enter on either their own Junior Membership, a Transferable Card, or on a Member guest pass (when available).

Members with children or grandchildren under 10 are encouraged to place their child's name on the wait list for membership as soon as possible.

Cricket Etiquette: Please remember to show consideration to other by limiting movement in seating areas during play. It is particularly important to remain seated during an over. Standing or sitting in aisles or on stairways is not permitted due to safety regulations.

Smoke Free Stadium- Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is not permitted at Adelaide Oval. Patrons who smoke in areas of Adelaide Oval will be evicted from the oval.

Transport: The use of public transport is strongly recommended. All public transport is FREE on match days for SACA Members and Transferable Card holders during the Magellan day-night Ashes Test Match for all regular Adelaide Metro train, trams and bus services. Just present your Member or Transferable card on board. - Saturday & Sunday: Public transport is FREE for the entire day

- Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: FREE public transport starts from 11am until last service (subject to play on those days)

Train line closures:

According to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, the Outer Harbor and Grange trains will be unavailable until 15 January. Due to the Outer Harbor and Grange train line closure the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure have advised SACA that during the rail closures replacement services will run in lieu of trains. SACA has been advised that the closure will not impact the service plan, nor will additional costs be incurred for the Ashes and BBL matches.  Replacement services are planned to meet the capacity and frequency of regular train services, with additional buses allocated to cater for increased loading's during these events.

The Gawler line will also be closed between the Adelaide and Mawson Lakes interchange until Monday 4 December, Day 3 of the Test. Final schedules will be released when available. 

Road Closures:

  • King William Road between North Terrace and Victoria will close for the AOX services from 8pm to 10:30pm – Days 1 to 3
  • Speed restrictions will apply for Days 4 and 5
  • Victoria Drive will close from 8pm to 10:30pm – Days 1 to 3
  • Pennington will close post event from 8pm to 10:30pm
  • War Memorial Drive will close from 10am to 10.30pm daily 

SACA Member Pre-Reserved Seating (Seat Holds):  For the Ashes Test, Members have the opportunity to purchase a daily seat hold in selected bays of the Members' Area. Any seats in these bays not purchased by Members will be opened up for any other members to sit in. *There are no daily seat holds for day 5.

Alcohol- Free Seating in the Members’ Area- Two seating bays (bays 314 and 315) on level 3 of the Western Stand are alcohol-free seating bays in the Members' Area. This seating will be available on a “first come, first served” basis.
