Amanda-Jade Wellington’s cricketing promise has not gone unnoticed by Australian selectors, earning her first Australian contract for the 2017-18 season.
The right-arm leg-spinner was the joint leading wicket-taker for the 2016-17 Women’s National Cricket League season with 13 scalps at 17.61.
Wellington made her international debut against South Africa in 2016 and has gone on to play a further five ODIs and three Twenty20s, including one match in the ICC Women’s World Cup in England.
Opening the batting for her Premier Cricket side Port Adelaide in 2016-17, Wellington was the leading run-maker across the Websters Lawyers First Grade competition with 325 at an average of 81.25.
