The 20-year-old from Kensington District Cricket Club leads SA Grade Cricket with 869 runs at 86.90, including three hundreds and six half centuries.

Dalton, in his first year as a Redbacks rookie, scored a century in each innings of the Futures League match against Victoria at Gliderol Stadium last month with 104 and an unbeaten 100 batting at number five.

Dalton, of Burnside, takes the place of Sam Raphael who is omitted from the squad.

Joe Mennie has also been named in the squad after suffering a skull fracture bowling in the nets for the Sydney Sixers during the BBL.

He made his competitive return to cricket for Adelaide University on Saturday, taking 2-15 off 10 overs against Northern Districts.

The West End Redbacks are currently in fourth place on the Sheffield Shield standings and are a mathematical chance of finishing second and qualifying for the final should they defeat the Tigers, and New South Wales and Queensland* lose or draw.

* If the Bulls win then bonus points will be required to qualify.
