The swing bowler has had limited opportunity with the West End Redbacks in one-day cricket, but is looking forward to the remainder of the tournament.

Sayers rejoins Redbacks squad

“I’ve been bowling without any pain and it’s been great to get back in the nets,” he said. Obviously the bowling group is going very well at the moment so I just have to be ready if something happens.

“I think I’ve got a lot to show and a bit of value in the (one-day) game so hopefully if I get a chance I can show that.

“We’ve got a great mix of blokes as Ferg (Callum Ferguson) said before and with the experience and younger blokes who bring excitement to our team, I think we have the team to go all the way.”

Rookie Spencer Johnson returns to Adelaide, alongside David Grant who has a left side strain and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four weeks.

The Redbacks next face the Tasmanian Tigers on Tuesday, 10 October at North Sydney Oval from 10:30am (local). The match will be live-streamed and live-scored on cricket.com.au.
