Early on Sunday the Redbacks defeated the Tasmanian Tigers in Hobart by 193 runs after the home side capitulated to 106 all out in just 29.4 overs to move the Redbacks into second place.

But they also had to rely on Western Australia winning or drawing against the New South Wales Blues, and the Warriors managed a thrilling six run victory after the Blues almost pulled off a mammoth 400-run chase on the final day.

The Redbacks qualified in second place on the Sheffield Shield standings with 47.24 points - 1.76 points above Western Australia, and 13.07 below first place Victoria.

The final is the Redbacks' second consecutive appearance, beginning Sunday 26 March - Thursday 30 March at Traeger Park.
