The West End men’s competition opens with a one-day fixture on Saturday and then the Statewide women’s season starts with twenty20 games on Sunday.

Woodville has included wicketkeeper Jacob Dickman (from Prospect) and Cooper Thompson (Northern Districts) in its team to play East Torrens, who have gained Joel Logan from Adelaide University and welcome back former Sheffield Shield player Ben Dougall from injury.

Batsman Josh Hoffmann has returned to Port Adelaide from Woodville.

Women’s titleholder Kensington has recruited Australian allrounder Ashleigh Gardner but will have to wait until she is clear of Ashes commitments.

Tahlia McGrath, also in Australia’s Ashes squad, has switched from Southern District to West Torrens while Scorpions Sam Betts and Tabatha Saville have moved to Northern Districts.

West End men’s first grade: Port Adelaide v Sturt; Woodville v East Torrens; Kensington v Adelaide University; Northern Districts v Adelaide; Glenelg v Prospect; Tea Tree Gully v West Torrens. Southern District has the bye. Games start at 11am.

Statewide women’s first grade twenty20: Kensington v West Torrens; Southern District v Sturt; Port Adelaide v Northern Districts.
