Ed Cowan and Doug Bollinger shone brightest for NSW, with the former making a half-century and the tall quick taking 3-35.
The Blues will be boosted by the return of Australian quick Mitchell Starc when the two teams meet again at Hurstville Oval tomorrow from 10:30am (local), live-streamed on cricket.com.au.
