Ferguson’s second innings knock of 90 against Tasmania in Hobart lifted his career tally to 6543 runs, pushing the 32-year-old ahead of SACA Board member and former Australian Test batsman Andrew Hilditch (6504).

Australian coach Darren Lehmann is at the top of the runs list, having scored 11,622 runs at an average of 56.97 for SA.

Ferguson, who made his Test debut in November, has scored his runs from 181 innings.
