Affiliates and Club Protection Policy
Background
The South Australian Cricket Association has developed this policy to ensure both they, and their affiliated groups recognise that as sporting organisations, they have legal responsibilities in relation to harassment, discrimination and child protection.
The South Australian Cricket Association also have moral obligations in relation to establishing standards of appropriate behaviour and in providing safe, respectful and appropriate sporting environments.
Unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and abuse in any form will not be tolerated by the South Australian Cricket Association. The organisation is committed to provide an environment safe for children that is free from harassment and abuse of anyone and promotes respectful and positive behaviour, values and attitudes.
The Affiliates and Club Protection Policy provides a binding code of conduct forming the basis of appropriate, ethical conduct and has been designed to re-enforce the values of the South Australian Cricket Association to best create an environment that is appropriate for all who are affiliated with the organisation.
It is also an essential part of the South Australian Cricket Association’s proactive and preventative approach to tackling inappropriate behaviour.
This policy begins with effect from October 2011 and will operate until replaced. This policy and/or its attachments will be reviewed in line with legislative changes and amended as required from time to time by the South Australian Cricket Association or Cricket Australia.
