Grade Cricket program

The SACA is delighted to welcome all players, umpires, administrators, volunteers and supporters to the SACA Grade Cricket Competition for 2010-11.
Cricket season 2010-11 is shaping as a season of innovation and change for Grade Cricket in South Australia.
GRADE CRICKET STAKEHOLDERS SURVEY
Approximately 300 Grade Cricket players, officials and parents of junior participants completed an online survey in May 2010 to provide guidance on programming and bylaws for the upcoming season. A number of consistent themes emerged from the survey, including the introduction of Twenty20 cricket into the programme - 92% of juniors, 75% of XXXX Gold B, C, D players and 97% of parents were in favour of trailing the format in season 2010-11.
TWENTY20 CRICKET
The Grade Cricket competition was a leader in establishing Twenty20 cricket in season 2004/05, and will for the first time offer ‘double header’ fixtures incorporated in to the XXXX Gold B, C and D Grades, as well as all Powerade junior boys grades. Rather than scheduling a Twenty20 cricket ‘standalone’ weeknight match for these grades, where it was difficult to secure players, umpires, volunteers and grounds, the ‘double header’ matches have replaced a traditional one day fixture. Women’s Cricket has also further embraced the format, by increasing Twenty20 fixtures in line with the Women’s National Cricket League.
- XXXX Gold B, C, D and Powerade junior boys grades Twenty20 matches attract 7.5 points for a win (the split in points required due to the bye in senior grades – ultimately an opportunity to secure 15 points in a day)
- The first game will commence at 12pm, with the second match to commence 30 minutes after the completion of the first match (no later than 3.10pm)
- Clubs can rotate players and alter the composition of the team across the two matches, as two team sheets and two coin tosses are required on the day
