The Adelaide Strikers have suffered a loss to the Brisbane Heat after Chris Hartley hit a boundary off the last ball of the game.
A stellar batting performance from the Heats’ Luke Pomersbach (65 from 39) led the charge, despite some brilliant bowling from youngster Kane Richardson (1/22 from 4).
An early wicket to Captain Johan Botha got the home team off to a flyer.
The combination of Pomersbach and Joe Burns contributed 99 runs and swung the momentum toward the Heat.
Tim Ludeman took an absolute blinder to dismiss the dangerous Thisara Perera off the bowling of Kieron Pollard.
Two run outs and some Kane Richardson magic tightened up the game, leaving the Heat requiring 36 runs from the last three overs.
With 15 runs needed from the last over, a Ben Cutting six changed the game, and the Heat scored the required four runs from the last ball to take the points.
Earlier, the Strikers’ total of 183 looked to be enough, Callum Ferguson returning to form with an impressive 58 off 36 balls.
A handy 48 off 23 balls from Pollard, including five fours and three sixes, boosted the Strikers’ total toward 200.
Three wickets in the last three overs stalled the Strikers, Perera doing the bulk of the damage claiming 3/27 off four overs.
