West End Redbacks name one change for side to face Queensland
November 12, 2015
Elliot Opie joins the team with the potential to make his first-class debut after the Emerging Redback enjoyed a strong West End Premier League campaign earlier this year, taking 14 wickets across eight matches for the Eastern Edge.
The young pace-bowler comes in for Kane Richardson with the experienced quick missing the match due to a strain in his right quadriceps.
SACA High Performance General Manager, Tim Nielsen said the side didn’t want to risk Richardson this week after a close finish against Western Australia on Monday.
“Kane’s been feeling quite sore in his upper leg so we’ve decided to rest him for the clash against the Bulls to avoid any potential further injury later in the season.”
Daniel Worrall also remains on the sidelines for the Redbacks after he missed the side’s last match due to a hamstring strain.
Saturday’s game at the Gabba will be the first Sheffield Shield match the South Australians play away from home soil after their opening two matches were both at Adelaide Oval.
The match will be available via live stream on www.cricket.com.au with play commencing at 10.30am (Adelaide time) each day.
